Description: This will be a full year course that introduces you to ancient Greek, with both classical and Koine treated, and it assumes no prior knowledge of Greek. We’ll be working with both the popular textbook Athenaze (students may use either the English or Italian versions, as available), as well as my own LGPSI materials. They will be supported in using either a classical or koine pronunciation, and have access to audio recordings, supplementary exercises, supplementary video tutorials, email support, and weekly seminars conducted 95% in Greek. If you’re looking for a robust ab initio course in ancient Greek, aimed at communicative competencies, this is my flagship course for 2020.
G101 will cover Athenaze chapters 1-9, and LGPSI 1-10
Classes will be offered via Zoom. You’ll need decent internet, and preferably a headset or microphone and relatively quiet workspace. Students should also ensure they have acquired a copy of the textbook before the class begins.
Time: Sunday 7pm US Eastern Standard Time, starting February 2nd
Length: 10 weeks x 1hr
