Greek 111: Intensive Introductory Greek – Part A

$725.00

Description:

This course meets for 2 hours a week, 15 weeks, and is designed to cover the equivalent of a college-semester of Greek, in a communicative mode. It assumes no prior knowledge of Greek. We’ll be working with both the popular textbook Athenaze (students may use either the English or Italian versions, as available), as well as my own LGPSI materials, and supplementary materials. They will be supported in using either a classical or koine pronunciation, and have access to audio recordings, email and slack support, and weekly seminars conducted 95% in Greek. Students will also be enrolled in a video-course that provides support materials throughout the course.

This course will cover Athenaze chapters 1-16, as well as additional materials. The CEFR goal for the end of this subject is A1, bordering on A2.

Classes will be offered via Zoom. You’ll need decent internet, and preferably a headset or microphone and relatively quiet workspace. Students should also ensure they have acquired a copy of the textbook before the class begins.

Time:

Session 1: Sunday 9pm US Eastern (Daylight) Time, starting August 2nd.
Session 2: Tuesday 9pm US Eastern (Daylight) Time, starting August 4th.

There will be a 2 week break 27th Sept – 3rd October, before resuming on the 4th. The course will remain on US time, so participants in other timezones should ensure they can adjust for summer/winter time changes.

Length: 15 weeks x 2hr

Cost: USD $725 / 1000 AUD

Other details:

All classes will be recorded and available for participants to download.
Classes require a minimum number of participants to run. Classes may run with less participants, at my discretion. Any cancelled classes will be refunded in full.
