Greek 224: The Gospel according to John, part 1 (2022)

In this unit we’ll be reading extensively in the gospel according to John and discussing them in Greek. We’ll cover half the Gospel in this course.

We’ll be reading through the Greek text throughout the term, while discussing it in a Q&A mode in Greek during the weekly seminars. Discussion will range from the textual to the literary and theological. Outside the weekly class, participants will be expected to read sections of the text themselves, with email support. There will also be a writing component.

Experience in spoken Greek is not necessarily required but students should be aware that the seminars will be conducted in spoken ancient Greek, at a level appropriate to the participants.

Classes will be offered via Zoom. You’ll need decent internet, and preferably a headset or microphone and relatively quiet workspace.

Time: Mondays 9pm US Eastern time, starting January 31st

Length: 10 weeks x 1.5 hr

Cost: USD $330

All classes will be recorded and available for participants to download.
Classes require a minimum number of participants to run. Classes may run with less participants, at my discretion. Any cancelled classes will be refunded in full.

Refund policy:

More than 10 days prior, 100%
Less than 10 days prior to the class, 75%
Within the first 2 weeks of class, 50%
After the first 2 weeks, a refund is not available.
