Greek 313: Basil’s To Young Men, on the reading of Greek literature

Description: In this unit we’ll be reading and discussing Basil of Caesarea’s To young Men, in which he discusses the appropriate use of Greek (aka Pagan) literature, for young men. We’ll be reading as much of the text as we can, while discussing it in a Q&A mode in Greek during the weekly seminars. Outside the weekly class, participants will be expected to read sections of the text themselves, with email support. Students should be aware that the seminars will be conducted primarily in spoken ancient Greek, at a level appropriate to the participants.

Time: Mondays 9pm US Eastern Time, starting July 18th.

Length: 10 weeks x 1hr

Cost: USD $220

All classes will be recorded and available for participants to download.
Classes require a minimum number of participants to run. Classes may run with less participants, at my discretion. Any cancelled classes will be refunded in full.

Refund policy:

More than 10 days prior, 100%
Less than 10 days prior to the class, 75%
Within the first 2 weeks of class, 50%
After the first 2 weeks, a refund is not available.
