Galilaiathen
A New Testament Supplementary reader
Learn to read NT Greek with a graded reader.
Students who train on a classical Greek textbook are often not quite familiar with the vocabulary and idiom of the New Testament. At the same time, most students of 'Biblical' Greek lack exposure to connected narratives of simpler materials during their initial courses. This book serves both audiences.
You'll read a graded long-form narrative following Judah, a Galilean farmer, and his family, being gradually exposed to more complex grammar and increasing vocabulary as the story intersects with the New Testament, as well as providing embedded readings drawn from LXX passages.
16 chapters of approximately 600 words each. (At present) limited vocabulary notes.
This book is designed for:
- Students who have used Athenaze and want a transitional reader for New Testament Greek.
- Students who have used a grammar-based textbook, looking for comprehensible, simple Greek to develop their reading skills.
- Teachers looking for some additional, CI-based material for their students.
The current version is offered as a pre-publication work due to popular demand. The text is still being written, but the main readings of Part 1 (16 chapters) are complete.
