In this seminar we’ll be working from the assumption that you’d like to speak ancient Greek, and/or incorporate spoken ancient Greek into your classes (or learning practices), and you don’t know where to start. Over two 75 minutes sessions, I will walk you through the fundamentals of speaking in ancient Greek, and how to make it happen for yourself. I’ll teach, and model, fundamental question and answer structures in Greek, and how to use these while working with texts, as well as more free flowing conversation. In the second session, we’ll focus on discussing grammatical and textual features in Greek. Break-out sessions will provide opportunity to utilise and practise these skills.
This will be a 2.5 hr seminar (with a 25 minute break).
No experience in speaking Greek is necessary at all, some experience with Greek is expected though not strictly required.
This event will be offered via Zoom. You’ll need decent internet, and preferably a headset or microphone and relatively quiet workspace.
Time: 5pm – 8pm US Eastern time, January 10th 2022.
Length: 3 hours
Cost: USD $50
Refund policy:
More than 10 days prior, 100%
Less than 10 days prior to the class, 75%
