In this unit we’ll be reading sections of Plato’s dialogue Crito, and discussing them in Greek.
We’ll be reading through the Greek text throughout the term, while discussing it in a Q&A mode in Greek during the weekly seminars. Outside the weekly class, participants will be expected to read sections of the text themselves, with email support. Experience in spoken Greek is not necessarily required but students should be aware that the seminars will be conducted in spoken ancient Greek, at a level appropriate to the participants.
Students should expect to read around 500 words a week.
Classes will be offered via Zoom. You’ll need decent internet, and preferably a headset or microphone and relatively quiet workspace.
Time: Monday 7pm US Eastern Time, starting February 1st (2021). (The class time is fixed to 7pm, New York, regardless of other time changes)
Length: 9 weeks x 1hr
Cost: USD $198

Classes require a minimum number of participants to run. Classes may run with less participants, at my discretion. Any cancelled classes will be refunded in full.
