Description: In this unit we’ll be reading Lucian’s The Death of Peregrinus, a satire in which we get both Lucian in fine form, as well as an early outside depiction of Christianity
We’ll be reading through the Greek text throughout the term, while discussing it in a Q&A mode in Greek during the weekly seminars. Outside the weekly class, participants will be expected to read sections of the text themselves, with email support. Experience in spoken Greek is not necessarily required but students should be aware that the seminars will be conducted in spoken ancient Greek, at a level appropriate to the participants.
Classes will be offered via Zoom. You’ll need decent internet, and preferably a headset or microphone and relatively quiet workspace.
Time: Mondays 8pm US Eastern time, starting July 17th 2023
Length: 10 weeks x 1hr

Classes require a minimum number of participants to run. Classes may run with less participants, at my discretion. Any cancelled classes will be refunded in full.

After the first 2 weeks, a refund is not available.
