Greek 283: Greek Composition 3

$220.00

Description: This course is designed for those with some experience and ability in Greek, who are looking to develop the ability to write original prose compositions in Greek. Participants will work on a number of creative-writing type tasks, designed to exercise their ability to write in Ancient Greek. We will explore a variety of genres, as well as consider how to develop an active use of certain trickier parts of Greek grammar. Class time will also be spent on workshopping participants’ writing pieces. Lastly, we will also discuss and work with pre-existing ‘translation’ resources (e.g. Dickey’s An Introduction to the Composition and Analysis of Greek Prose) as time permits.

Participants should expect to spend 2-4hrs/week outside class working on their writing.

Classes will be offered via Zoom. You’ll need decent internet, and preferably a headset or microphone and relatively quiet workspace.
