Description: This is the second of four courses that introduces you to ancient Greek, with both classical and Koine treated, and it assumes no prior knowledge of Greek. We’ll be working with the popular textbook Athenaze (students may use either the English or Italian versions, as available). They will be supported in using either a classical or koine pronunciation, and have access to audio recordings, email support, and weekly seminars conducted 95% in Greek.
This course will cover Athenaze chapters 9-16.
Classes will be offered via Zoom. You’ll need decent internet, and preferably a headset or microphone and relatively quiet workspace. Students should also ensure they have acquired a copy of the textbook before the class begins.
Time (please read this carefully):
Classes will be at Friday 6am Sydney, Australia. This is Thursday 3pm US Eastern time for October, but 2pm US Eastern from November onwards. You need to be okay to adjust for that. We will have Dec 11/12th off, and the final class is on Dec 18/19th.
